Hey, Journey Group! Today we had a Lifetalk in our committee meeting about comparisons. One part of the Lifetalk that really impacted me was when people were picked to stand at the front of the room and say “____ is so much ____er than I am”, comparing themselves to another person in the room. It was so powerful and heartbreaking to actually hear the comparisons other people were making in their minds that neglected their self-worth. This made me realize how often I make comparisons about myself without even knowing it. It really changed my perception of my own self-worth. Now, I know that instead of making comparisons that diminish my self-worth, I can say “____ is really good at _____ and I want that for myself.” I already know that making this conscious decision will help me to recognize my own worth in the future.
