Dear Journey Group,
We are halfway through the PFO year and I wanted to share about the journey so far, what I’ve learned, and how PFO has impacted me. For the past two years, Playing for Others has continually played a monumental role in my views of others as well as of myself. Recently, I have especially noticed the strong influence of the seeds that have been planted in my head by the Lifetalks and ideas that PFO focuses on. I have found myself constantly reflecting on whether I have spent enough time in a place of self-care and love as opposed to a place of stress and fear. This year, I learned that stress is a choice, regardless of condition and circumstance. This simple idea has helped me tremendously throughout junior year. In addition to comfort, PFO has brought me confidence. In PFO, I am constantly told that I am perfect, whole and complete. I am exactly who I say that I am. After hearing all the wonderful PFO teens and staff saying these two statements, I have developed a deep-rooted faith that they are unconditionally true. In fact, these two beliefs are true for each and every person, and this concept has flooded acceptance into all aspects of my life — acceptance of myself and acceptance of others. I encourage you all to begin telling yourself that you are whole, perfect, and complete, and that you are exactly who you say you are. I promise you it opens up days of happiness and gratitude. I cannot thank PFO enough for introducing me to such a beautiful perspective of life. I hope you all have an amazing holiday! Thank you Journey Group!
