We are halfway through the PFO year and I wanted to share about the journey so far, what I’ve learned, and how PFO has impacted me. I have noticed a boost in self confidence and in my overall character since the beginning of my first year in PFO. I treat people with more interest and respect, trying to find ways to connect with them, even if they’re unlike me. As cliche as it may sound, I’ve learned to not judge a book by its cover and make assumptions automatically. I’ve learned to collaborate with others and delegate leadership through the creation of our children’s book. The Buddy Program has made a profound impact on me as well. It’s such a special thing, creating a relationship like that, and it brings me so much joy to hang out with Lee about every month. You can tell how fun it is for him too. I’ve pushed myself out of my comfort zone since the beginning of the season, and am ready to push myself even more. I constantly find myself thinking I’m not good enough, but when I come to PFO and am surrounded by such intentional people it reminds me that I am in a safe place and they encourage me so much. I have enjoyed my PFO journey so far, and can’t wait to love it even more. I’m ready to take on challenges, lead, and accept others with a happy heart.
