We are halfway through the PFO year and I wanted to share about the journey so far, what I’ve learned, and how PFO has impacted me. I have really learned how to appreciate qualities in others and in myself. I have learned that before you can love others, you must first learn to embrace who you are and what you stand for. This has really impacted me at my new school this year. Switching to Myers Park was a big change, and PFO really helped. First off, I knew a ton more kids at Myers Park because I had met them during the PFO retreat. Second, I had learned so many good ways to quickly get to know someone and great ways to connect with people through PFO. These skills really made a change in how I was viewing High School during my first couple of weeks. It was so great being able to comfortably and confidently go up to people and start conversations off of something as simple as asking a question or complimenting them. I felt a lot more comfortable doing these things because PFO has really helped me step outside of my comfort zone over the year. Overall, what a crazy, great, and fun start to the year it has been!
