Dear Journey Group,
We are halfway through the PFO year and I wanted to share about the journey so far, what I’ve learned, and how PFO has impacted me.
Joining PFO last year was one of the best decisions I have ever made in my life. As I made my way through my first year, I had loads and loads of fun, but so far, my second year has impacted me so much more. At the close of my first year, I applied to be in leadership as a Co-Chair for one of the magnificent committees. In-between the end of the previous season and the beginning of this one, I learned that I was chosen for leadership! At first, I wasn’t sure how to feel about that. I was super excited, of course, but I was also very nervous. It became time for the Co-Chair retreat. While there, I had more fun, more inspiration, more emotion, and more excitement at one time than I have ever had in the entirety of my life. During the four days I was there, I found out who my Co-Chair and Advisor was, and the committee that we’d be serving on. I was on the Anthology committee with my Co-Chair, Anna, and my advisor, Brandi. Once we got into the season, the three of us figured out who was on our committee. We all bonded extremely quickly, and started to feel very comfortable around each other. Throughout the rest of the year up until now, it has been interesting to see things from a leadership perspective. I walk and talk with much more confidence, overall get to see changes in the teens around me, and the impact that I can make in their lives. I will continue to see the difference I create, not only in leadership and Playing for Others, but also in the rest of my every day life.
