Dear Journey Group,
We are halfway through the PFO year and I wanted to share about the journey so far, what I’ve learned, and how PFO has impacted me. My PFO year, so far, has been a year unlike any other. I have grown in ways much different than before and truly have become an accountable, active leader. Last year, my first year in PFO, was a year that very much was surrounded in my own personal growth and acceptance of self. PFO showed me how to expand my comfort zone and become the person I say I am to be. This year, I have felt a shift. With that knowledge of self already under my belt, I have been able to utilize those tools I have been given by giving of them, myself. Last year I discovered and grew my talent of slam poetry in the Concert Committee. This year, as co-chair of the Slam Poetry Committee, I was able to give of my talent and knowledge of Slam to my committee members, helping them to grow through my growth. I have also experienced what it means to become the leaders I learned from. I can now see the strengths I saw in my leaders, mentors and inspirations in myself. This PFO year, so far, has been full of new faces, new beginnings and new experiences, and I am so excited to see where the next half of the year will take me.
