Dear Journey Group,

We are halfway through the PFO year and I wanted to share about the journey so far, what I’ve learned, and how PFO has impacted me! Bare with me as this is a longer post!

I’ve grown so much already, and am amazed as I continue to grow each and everyday in a positive way.

As you may know from my blogs, I was on the Cookbook Committee this year! We have just wrapped up our committee meetings, and our Cookbook has been sent to the publishers, which means I will be an official published author! How amazing is that? Cookbook has taught me to expand my comfort zone, and to try new things I thought I was never capable of doing. I’ve always been a shy person, so it’s been amazing to watch myself come out of my shell. I’ve created unforgettable memories with my committee, and I am so grateful for each and every one of them. I’m also very grateful for my advisers, Anna G. and Alfie, and my lovely co-chairs, Maddie and Anna H. It’s been an amazing season!

I’ve also really grown from our Lifetalks that we had after each Committee meeting. The Lifetalks were so inspiring, and it changed the way I saw myself and others. I’ve learned that what I see in others and wish for myself, I already have it in myself. I just need to dig deeper and let it shine. I’ve also learned that I am who I say I am, and that my authentic self is the real me. I’ve realized that you should not worry about how others may perceive you, instead you should be your authentic self and let people realize how incredible you really are. The Lifetalks have taught me so much, and have been really uplifting.

Lastly, the Buddy Program has been so amazing! I’ve really enjoyed bonding with my buddy, Katie, and my buddy partner, Lucy. Katie is such a sweet, and incredible person. She brightens the room every time she walks in, and it’s been amazing to watch her grow! Lucy and I have created some sweet memories with Katie, and we hope to continue to experience more! The buddy events have been amazing, and to know that we can tackle the community together and spread love and joy is amazing!

As the Committee meetings and Lifetalks have come to an end, it has just opened the doors to the Arts Experiences, and I am very excited to tackle on my first Musical Theater experience! It’s been an incredible year thus far, and I can’t wait to let you all know how the rest of the year goes!

Thank you for reading and making it to the end. Happy Holidays, and Happy New Years!

In gratitude,

Preet Kaur.
