Happy New Year!

I hope that this past year has been full of blessings and that this year will bring even more blessings! This year certainly has been a blessing for me. Working with the amazing staff, the other advisors, and the incredible teens from PFO has been a truly awesome experience. I wish that I had had such a cool program to be a part of at that age. But I’m also very glad that I’m able to be a part of it now!

Over the past few weeks, we have been working on songs and slam poetry for the performances during PFO’s annual Night of Gratitude. These songs have been a joy to see being developed by these extraordinary teens. It truly has been a blessing.

It is so cool to see the artistic ability of these teens. Song after song. Verse after verse. They just keep cranking them out, one great melody at a time.

One of the songs that we sing as a large group has a chanting bridge that asks “How much more good can we do?” This is a great question to ask ourselves at the beginning of the year. Through all the things that you did last year, how much more good can we do? When we come together as a community, the possibilities are endless. And these teens are leading the way. By asking themselves “Who am I?” and “How will I give of that?” these teens are leading together, and with their heads up and their minds open, they can truly make a difference in Charlotte and the world!
