Hi Journey Group!
Today was an amazing day. We had the chance to meet in our arts experience which for me this year is children’s theatre. The really unique thing about the children’s show is that is an apatpion of the children’s book written by our teens and will be performed through live actors and puppetry. We began making various paper mâché puppets and this was the first time I had used this particular medium. It was the task of two other teens and I cover a 2 ft by 3 ft wire sphere in tissue paper and it was very difficult. We kept adding too much paste which made the paper heavy and sticky. At first I was really frustrated and did not think we would be able to do it. As soon as we said we needed help, the advisor Ben and another teen Tim immediately came to give us a hand. Eventually we did cover the entire structure and I can’t wait to see how the puppet looks complete. I realized there is no shame in asking for help and if I need help it is always just one step away in PFO.
