This past Saturday was my last committee meeting in PFO and my last Winter Ball. It’s crazy to be experiencing all these things for the last time. It didn’t even hit me that these were my last ones until someone mentioned it after it was over. But the good thing is that they were both great! During the committee meeting, the SGL’s got together and checked in and had cake, which was delicious, and got to enjoy ourselves. The Lifetalk was low key, so there wasn’t much prep to do beforehand. It was nice to be together as a group. I have grown so close to my other SGL’s and I love them so much. They, the PFO staff and the other teens, have made this the best PFO year ever! I am so grateful to be on a “committee” with these amazing and loving individuals. It’s a wonderful group of teens this year and I am so grateful to be able to experience the growth and development of the people I hold so dear in my heart. It has been a crazy year, what with college quickly approaching, but I know that I have a support team of almost 100 to catch me if I fall and for that I am eternally grateful. So Journey Group, I want to leave you with this quote by Dr. Seuss, simply because it describes my emotions perfectly, “Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.” And I will always be smiling whenver I think about PFO.
