Through Personal Development, teens look within to discover the answer to the question, “Who Am I?”
Coaching from personal development experts, teen-led small groups, and full group self-designed workshops, form the backbone of this part of our program. The main focus of this work is to ask teens to examine what they’re thinking consciously and subconsciously, and how that translates into what they’re feeling, and ultimately into their behavior. We question the “why” of life, how we perceive the world around us, what life experiences have contributed to who we are, and the correlation between loving ourselves and loving others. We dig into discussions about teen issues such as: comparisons, emotional energy, family dynamics, balance, perceptions, and creating your envisioned life. Peer-led lifetalks on topics such as “you don’t know what you don’t know,” “when you know better, you do better,” and “they’re doing the best they can with what they know,” inspire our teens to be their best selves in any given moment, which in turn allows them to give their best self to the world around them. This level of self-awareness and of shift in perspective is key to the teens’ personal transformation.
