What was your favorite event?
I remember the first PFO dance experience very clearly. The night that PFO presented this experience was very powerful. There were 10 dance pieces that honored 10 causes/people in Charlotte. I was proud of the event and my participation in it. It was the first time I had danced in front of an audience, that feeling was pure electric. I performed in a dance that honored a husband/father who had passed away. Dancing for that purpose was special for me.

What did you learn in PFO that still impacts you today?
I gained a lot of confidence in PFO. The program re-affirmed my worth and power consistently. I carry that with me now and it allows me to stay strong and feel valuable.

What are you passionate about now?
I think biology is fascinating. I love hiking and rock climbing. I’m interested in gender studies and am trying to make stabs at becoming more educated about racial divides. Music has sustained me for the past 7 months of being ill. I play the guitar several times a day, every day.
